Do i need a adaptor for my ps3 in another country?

Im going to Taiwan to visit some relatives...i decide to bring my playstation 3 with me...the question is they have a different plug...and then i remembered that i bought a speaker from Taiwan before and when i tried to use it here in the UK the speaker broke due to the difference in current. Well what worries me is that would the different in current damage my ps3 or not and i do i need an adaptor or some sort for it (convert the current)?
