Losing traditional script. How many people still learn traditional Chinese?

China obviously has a bigger influence than Hong Kong and Taiwan. Many new Chinese learners are learning simplified. Will it eventually be discontinued from everyday life? Would it and used only in something like calligraphy and literature similar to Latin?
