What is your favorite period of history?

The Hellenistic period...except Alexander was running around, making war...definitely not the Roman Era or the Dark Ages...of course, we have far better medicine and parts of the world are trying to treat women equally now but better life span = overpopulation...the enlightenment period seemed a cool time, but the likelihood that a woman was married off at too young an age and treated unwell was too great...plus bad medicine...it's a mixed bag, hard to say. In the ancient days, Celtic women had rights...there was evidence of human sacrifice but it didn't seem massive or out of control, dunno
