Getting to taipei from taoyuan airport?

At the airport there are bus companies selling tickets and a bus terminal. Their English is not great but I found a fellow passenger who told me to take the bus as far as ????? then get off and take the underground train system. Google the train map and you will see what I mean. People like to help you there.
